IT'S ALL IN THE NAME!
Our
name was chosen by our owner, James E. Dutchak, who read the book Gods Little Acre and saw the movie of the same name
while serving in the Air Force during the Korean War (1951 - 1953). Jim lived a similar lifestyle to the one described in
God's Little Acre.
The main character in the novel and movie was looking to strike gold on
his Georgia farm by digging deep surface holes on his property. The movie begins with a scene of dirt by the shovelful flying
out of one of these holes and heaps of dirt all over the yard from other holes.
We purchased just
under 4,000 tandem truck loads of fill to create a playable surface on our 28 acres of land.The resulting hills reminded Jim
of the opening scene of the movie.
We have ACRES. So we named our golf course, GOD'S LITTLE ACRES
